Most of us know roughly what we need to do to become healthier and fitter.
Move more. Get stronger. Eat well. Sleep better. Drink enough water. Take care of ourselves.
The difficult part is often not knowing what to do. It’s actually doing it — consistently.
That’s where accountability can make such a difference.
You Don’t Have to Do It Alone
When you decide to make a change on your own, it’s incredibly easy for life to get in the way.
You start with great intentions. Then you have a busy week, you miss a couple of workouts, motivation drops and suddenly the goal you felt so excited about has disappeared into the background.
Having someone alongside you changes things.
As your personal trainer, I don’t just want to tell you what exercises to do. I want to be your cheerleader.
Someone who knows what you’re working towards. Someone who notices your progress. Someone who encourages you when motivation dips and helps you get going again when life knocks you off course.
Accountability isn’t about being told off when you haven’t done something. Quite the opposite.
It’s about support, encouragement and connection.
It Starts With the Right Goal
One of the first things we’ll do in personal training is talk about your goals.
But rather than simply saying, “I want to lose weight” or “I want to get fitter”, we’ll dig a little deeper.
What would you really like to change?
How would you like to feel?
What would being stronger, fitter or healthier allow you to do?
What is realistic for your life right now?
And, importantly, why does this goal matter to you?
Once we understand that, we can create small, achievable steps to move you towards it.
Because a goal shouldn’t make you feel overwhelmed. It should give you direction.
Small Steps Create Big Changes
We often imagine that getting fit requires a complete lifestyle overhaul.
It doesn’t.
For one person, the first goal might be walking three times a week. For somebody else, it might be two short strength workouts at home. Someone else might want to improve their nutrition, start yoga, return to the gym or simply become more active during the day.
The plan needs to work for you.
And those little successes matter.
Every time you complete something you intended to do, you’re building confidence. Instead of constantly thinking about everything you haven’t achieved yet, we can start noticing everything that is changing.
What If Weekly Personal Training Isn’t in Your Budget?
I also understand that weekly personal training isn’t affordable or practical for everyone.
That’s why I’m introducing a Six-Week Goal Setting & Accountability Programme.
We start with a one-to-one goal-setting session where we’ll look at where you are now, where you’d like to be in six weeks and what realistic actions will help you get there.
Together we’ll create your personal six-week plan.
Then you go away and put it into practice — but you’re not left completely on your own.
During the six weeks, I’ll check in with you by text to see how you’re getting on, celebrate what’s working and give you a little encouragement when you need it.
And if you’ve had a difficult week? That’s okay too.
We don’t give up. We look at what happened, adjust the plan and begin again.
At the end of the six weeks, we’ll meet for another one-to-one accountability session.
We’ll look at your progress, celebrate your wins, talk about what you’ve learned and decide what you’d like to work towards next.

This isn’t a bootcamp. I’m not going to shout at you, make you feel guilty or expect perfection.
I’m here to help you find a way of becoming healthier and fitter that actually fits your body, your personality and your life.
Sometimes we don’t need someone pushing us harder.
Sometimes we simply need someone in our corner saying:
“You’re doing brilliantly. Keep going. What’s our next little step?”
That’s the kind of personal trainer I want to be.
If weekly personal training isn’t right for you at the moment, but you’d love some help setting your goals and actually sticking to them, my Six-Week Goal Setting & Accountability Programme could be a lovely place to start.
Six weeks. One clear goal. Small achievable steps. And your own personal cheerleader along the way.
